"My daughter was getting married at the end of May, which was my focus. She got married, and so now I'm kind of in the act of consideration."
Juneau Assemblymember Kate Troll is undecided about seeking re-election.
She talked about that while a guest on Action Line Friday.
Troll's initial three year term ends this year.
Her areawide seat is on the October 4 ballot.
"I'm thinking about whether or not I'm going to run again," stated Troll. "A lot of people have been asking me, and my daughter was getting married at the end of May, which was my focus. She got married, and so now I'm kind of in the act of consideration. The upside is that once you've served three years, your learning curve is a lot less, you get a lot more invested in the issues, and you can be more effective on certain projects and programs from becoming so informed. The downside is that it's a significant chunk of time."
The filing period starts August 5 and ends August 15.
Other Assembly members up for election are Mary Becker and Jamie Bursell. Becker would be seeking re-election while Bursell, who was appointed recently, would be seeking election to the seat for the first time.
School Board members up for re-election include Barbara Thurston and Lisa Worl.
