AEL&P: power restored, but eagle perishes

There were reports of a power outage just after midnight (early Thurs morning) but AEL&P report all power is restored to the Cordova/Nowell Ave area.

They say an eagle came into contact with the power line and perished. Two fuses were blown as a result. Power was back on in about an hour.

There was another outage Wednesday, after a tree was dropped into the line near the Auke Bay ferry terminal area.   

Reports of an outage affecting customers in the Valley, Auke Bay, Lena Loop area, Tee Harbor, Amalga Harbor and north came in around 11:00 a.m. Power was restored around noon.
