Alaska legislators hope to address federal-state divide on marijuana

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Three Alaska legislators will attempt to rewrite the resolution that addresses the federal prohibition and the state's legal marijuana industry.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that State Rep. David Guttenberg of Fairbanks (D), Rep. Jason Green of Anchorage (I) and Rep. Louise Stutes of Kodiak (R) will be involved in the rewrite.

Last week U.S Attorney General Jeff Session rescinded the Cole Memorandum.  This was an Obama Administration policy that discouraged the federal government from interfering with state's that allow legal marijuana industries.

The trio plans to get considerable public comment as they rewrite the resolution.
