An Interview With Senator Tom Begich

The steps of the capitol

The lawmaker sits down to discuss education, the budget, his legacy, and The Art of War

On Wednesday, House Bill 287,  "An Act making appropriations for public education and transportation of students; and providing for an effective date." passed with reconsideration. The largely bipartisan bill introduced by representative Paul Seaton would allow for early educations funding and separate it from other budget considerations. The bill lists Justin Parish, Geran Tarr, Sam Kito III, and Jonathan Kreiss Tomkins as some of its many co sponsors.

Senator Tom Begich sat down with News of the North to give his perspective on the legislation, as well as his views on the budget, his legacy, and Sun Tzu's "The Art of War."
