APD releases name of man they shot and killed

Anchorage, Alaska (KINY) Charles McBride, 56, was identified as the man shot and killed by Anchorage Police after he apparently fired shots at them late Wednesday.

Mr. McBride was accused of breaking out a window and then firing shots at neighbors in a condominium project.  Among the victims were a female and a maintenance worker.  They were not injured.

The officer who returned fire and struck McBride in the upper torso, per policy, was placed on administrative leave.  The case will later be submitted for review by the Alaska Office of Special Prosecutions.
