Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The recipients will receive $38,500 in financial support.

The Bartlett Regional Hospital Foundation said the Edelman Scholarship Endowment is one of the ways they enhance and support quality health care at Bartlett Regional Hospital.  The Edelman Scholarship supports the education and the careers of those studying in the field of health sciences.

The Grace and Phil Edelman Scholarship Endowment was created with great care and concern for the health and welfare of Southeast Alaska communities and society-at-large.  Founded through a bequest by the Edelmans, the scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to students pursuing careers in health sciences.  It also encourages them to return to Southeast Alaska to practice.  Since it began in 2009, more than ten Edelman scholars have returned to Southeast Alaska communities.
