Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The Assembly approved ordinances that appropriates $1.32 million for wage increases for employees in the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association, $570,847 for wage hikes for the Public Safety Employees Association, and $166,000 for wage hikes for employees in the International Association of Fire Fighters.
The Assembly introduced an ordinance that would prohibit a vessel from being left unattended at a boat launch unless a person was actively parking or retrieving a trailer. The Docks and Harbors Board heard concerns from Amalga Harbor and Huffman Cove residents that vessels were being left unattended at the boarding float overnight.
Another ordinance introduced transfers $47,969 from un-expended marine passenger fees to the open space waterfront land acquisition capital improvement plan.
The Assembly approved a resolution that authorizes the CBJ to join the Alaska Remote Seller Sales Tax Commission. The Commission is developing the Alaska Intergovernmental Remote Seller Sales Tax agreement. The Commission will administer a system to collect and remitted sales tax revenues assessed on remote sales like internet sales.

The Assembly approved an ordinance that appropriates $1 million to fund various capital improvement projects at Juneau International Airport. They plan to spend $586,723 for the terminal reconstruction and $412,277 for work on taxiway, A, E, and D-1.
