Douglas Flag Day Contest winners announced

Participants are asked to leave the flags and other decorations up though July 4th, Independence Day, as people in the area are encouraged to walk or drive around to view the decorated properties.

The Douglas 4th of July Committee says over 92 property owners flew United States of America and Alaska State Flags in Douglas on Flag Day Tuesday!

The Douglas Fire Fighters did the judging Tuesday evening. The winners are:

RESIDENCE: First Place 1204 4th Street, Second Place 1002 5th Street, Third Place 1314 2nd Street, Honorable Mention 204 5th Street, Patriotic Spirit 206 E Street      

APARTMENT: First Place 803 4th Street # 1, Second Place  620 St Anns

BUSINESS: First Place Seaview Chalet B&B,  Second Place Louies Douglas Inn

NON PROFIT: Douglas Methodist Church
