Juneau, Alaska (KINY) A grand jury heard several cases this week on recent alleged criminal activity.
Shawn Beaird, 35, was indicted on charges of burglary in the second degree and theft in the third degree.
The charging document in the case said Beaird was spotted by the principal of DZ middle school burglarizing the school on surveillance cameras. The principal called 911 and police caught him in the building on February 17th.
$7,500 in property damage was done to the school.
Gregory Christianson, 44, of Haines was charged with theft in the second degree The charging document in the case said the owner of the trailer received a tip from a friend that Christianson had stolen the trailer. Haines Police said they found the trailer on Christianson's property tied to the back his truck.
Nickolas Cakmis of Hoonah was indicted on a charge of misconduct with a controlled substance in the third degree. He was arrested
after a search termed up a large quantity of tramadol in Hoonah last week.
James Lysons, 24, was charged with vehicle theft in the first degree. Juneau police said they recovered a stolen 1994 Mercury Sable at a Valley
motel hours after the theft.
Travis Richards, 26, was charged with vehicle theft in the first degree for an incident February 13th. The stolen vehicle was
recovered by Juneau's finest.
