JPD Deputy Chief David Campbell said "We assisted Alaska State Troopers with a pursuit. We did deploy some stop sticks in the area of Norway Point on Egan Drive."
He said JPD patrol cars were never involved in the pursuit.
[The vehicle ultimately came to a stop on Fish Creek Road where the driver and passenger surrendered. The pursuit lasted approximately 20 minutes and covered a distance of approximately 20 miles.
The driver was identified as Shaun Williams, 49, of Juneau. The Trooper involved placed Williams under arrest for Felony Eluding, Vehicle Theft In The 1st Degree, and Reckless Endangerment. The investigation also revealed that Williams had an outstanding $1,000 Juneau AST warrant for his arrest for Assault 4th Degree. He was transported to the Lemon Creek Correctional Center where he was held without bail. The passenger was interviewed and later released.
