Ketchikan man convicted of sexual abuse

Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - Mitchell Isler, 45, pled guilty to a charge of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree.

The investigation was handled by Ketchikan City Police.

Isler received 17 years and six months in the Department of Corrections.  Superior Court Judge Trevor Stephens suspended seven years and six months of the sentence leaving Isler 10 years to serve.

Isler was also sentenced to 10 years probation.

Court records show one charge of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree was dismissed by the court.

The court recommended Isler receive sexual offender and substance abuse treatment.
