Kiehl calls word from legislative leaders on special session "right choice"

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau Senator Jesse Kiehl called the announcement from legislative leaders about the special session good news.

"This is an excellent move and the right choice for all Alaskans to save some money and to make sure every Alaskan has access.

Having most of the meetings in Anchorage is not ideal he says since there won't be Gavel to Gavel coverage, although the Legislative's teleconference system will be available there.

The fact that all floor sessions will be held in Juneau is the most important part, Kiehl added.

He said the state will save about $200,000 by not convening in Wasilla.
