Man rescued from remote cabin

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) The Juneau snowmobile club was instrumental in helping get a man to safety.

The 65 year old man suffered a serious medical emergency while at the US Forest Services John Muir Cabin, located on the Auke Nu trail in Juneau.

Alaska State Troopers, the US Coast Guard and Capital City Fire Rescue all combined efforts in the rescue effort.  The first call came in at 6:30 am Wednesday and rescue crews arrived four hours later.  The man was taken out of the woods to an awaiting ambulance and transported to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment.
