More than 200 grams of meth seized in Ketchikan bust

Ketchikan, Alaska (KINY) - Ketchikan police have arrested a Washington man after discovering drugs and a gun in his hotel room.

According to a KPD press release, on Nov. 5, officers of the Ketchikan Police Department concluded an investigation into the importation and sales of narcotics by arresting Spencer D. Hill, age 22, from Washington State on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, and Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Third Degree.

Hill was contacted at a downtown hotel along with multiple local associates where a large quantity of drug paraphernalia was seized along with a loaded 9mm handgun. Multiple search warrants were obtained in the investigation, which included a local residence where Hill had recently rented a room.

Hill was found to be in possession of approximately a gram of heroin, approximately 218 grams of methamphetamine with an approximate street value of $60,000, a Kel-Tec PMR-30 .22 Mag handgun, and drug sales paraphernalia.

The firearm seized from Hill’s residence was confirmed as stolen from a vehicle in Ketchikan approximately two weeks ago.

Hill was transported to the Ketchikan Correctional Center where he was booked and held without bail.
