Pence to be at Winter Olympics, will visit Alaska for Military Defense

Washington (AP) - Vice President Mike Pence will be doing some traveling with a stop in Alaska and hopes to lead US delegation to the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Pence will be attending the opening ceremonies of the game, as well as hold meeting with leaders in Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo, Japan. He will be discussing the US commitment to stability in the region.

Pence will also make a stop in Alaska to review intercontinental ballistic missile defense systems.

North Korea has agreed to be a part of the games in South Korea. The two countries have agreed to hold more discussions on easing tensions along the border and reopening a military hotline.

The US and other world powers continue the pursuit of having North Korea abandon its nuclear weapons program.
