Rents increase across Alaska

Kodiak, Alaska (KINY) The average residential rental increased in monthly price from $1,157 to $1,178, or two percent.

The Kodiak Daily Mirror reported that Kodiak continued to have the highest rent in Alaska at $!,370.  That was a decrease from 2017's numbers of $1,433 per month.

The State Department of Labor and Workforce Development issued the report.  It said rents increased in most parts of Alaska.  T

Sitka had the second highest average rent at $1,300, tied with Valdez and Cordova.  Rents in Anchorage dipped from $1,200 to $1,197 last year.

Juneau had the highest rent rates for two-bedroom apartments at $1,377 per month.  The highest rents for three-bedroom apartments was Fairbanks at $2,255.
