Alaska Mountain Rescue Group searchers looking for the remains of 33-year-old Dr. Liam Walsh found a body Wednesday.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A body believed to be that of a Wasilla doctor missing since November in Hatcher Pass has been recovered.
Searchers with the Alaska Mountain Rescue Group looking for the remains of 33-year-old Dr. Liam Walsh found a body Wednesday in the pass.
Alaska State Troopers say an autopsy for positive identification has been scheduled.
Walsh left on a ski trip Nov. 22 and failed to return.
A major storm moved in afterward and an avalanche closed the Hatcher Pass Road for a week.
Winter ground searches were eventually suspended because of continued avalanche danger.
