ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Police said an 18-year-old was killed and a teenage boy seriously wounded in a shooting during an altercation Sunday near popular athletic fields in Anchorage.
Police spokesman MJ Thim said one boy pulled a gun during a fight. He shot and killed an 18-year-old man and left another with life-threatening injuries before taking off.
Police continue to look for the shooter, but don't believe the general public is in danger.
Police have spoken to the wounded teen and gotten some details.
Thim said the baseball field and basketball courts near Sullivan Arena were crowded and people may have heard or seen something. Police ask anyone with information to call them with any information.
